Hey everyone, I’m Cynthia Jones McNeil, and in 2020, everything changed. Like so many others, I lost my job as an RECE during the pandemic. One day I had security, the next—I was disposable. That moment unsettled me… but it also pushed me.

When I first started my online business, I’ll be honest—I had no idea what I was doing. I was figuring it out as I went. To keep things steady, I found a full-time job with the school board and poured whatever time and energy I had left into building my business on the side.

The goal was to be home with my three children, to have experiences with them and to have the freedom to be able to make decisions without having the constraints of a job telling me when I was allowed to take time off or have another man or woman be able to tell me what I could or couldn't do with my time!

Before all of this I loved my job, I loved working with children and children with exceptionalities. I went to school twice and got two diplomas. I was taught by family and society that this was a good thing, and it was okay to work under someone else. What I didn't realize was that even with a career, 2 diplomas that I'd still struggle financially. I had the same goal as every middle class member of society...to buy a house, travel once or twice a year and try to save for the day I can relax at 50-60 years old.

Then one day, I paused and really looked around at the people who had followed the “safe” path—stayed in their jobs for decades, worked hard, did everything “right.” But instead of peace and freedom, many were tired, unfulfilled, and afraid to retire because their pensions couldn’t support the life they dreamed of. That realization hit me hard. I knew I wanted more—not just for me, but for my children. So, I made a bold decision to walk a path no one in my family had ever walked before!

And while everyone doubted me, I stayed silent and kept going. I spoke life into myself. I followed my intuition. And guess what? It paid off.

I didn’t start my business because I had it all figured out-I started because I had to try something different. I wanted my time back-to be present for my three amazing kids, to take control, and to stop asking permission to live my own life.

I'm glad I ignored EVERYONE!

Fast forward to today, I am so proud of how far I've come with building this business. I trusted my intuition and since so much has aligned with who and where I am supposed to be. I'm living proof that you don’t need to have all the answers—you just need to trust yourself, take the first step, and keep showing up.
